KnowBe4, the company known for its Inside Man cyber training movies, has announced plans to acquire UK-based cloud email security firm Egress. The purchase will allow KnowBe4 to incorporate Egress’s Intelligent Email Security suite into its own product stack, creating what it believes will be the largest advanced AI-driven cybersecurity platform for managing human risk. The platform aims to provide personalised AI-driven controls and real-time coaching to help users defend against sophisticated email threats. KnowBe4 hopes to eventually aggregate threat intelligence data to offer tailored email security and training based on individual user risk profiles. The acquisition is expected to close in the coming months, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
