You can even share cellular data with fellow Speedify users, which is a unique twist. However, it falls short on fundamental security and privacy features expected from a VPN in 2025. Its pricing also skews higher, with a smaller server network, making it harder to compete with other more robust options out there.

Many users look for VPN prices around $4-$5 monthly for annual plans, putting Speedify on the expensive end. The Individual plan allows up to five device connections, lower than competitors like CyberGhost and Private Internet Access, which offer even more. Speedify Teams lacks discounted rates, although it has centralized management and the option for dedicated servers.
You can try the full free version without providing card details, but the 2GB monthly data cap limits its practicality. During my use of the free version, I noticed decent speed—unlike many free VPNs, Speedify doesn’t throttle its speed, giving users a taste of its performance.
Security Features
When it comes to safety, Speedify doesn’t meet some expectations. It skips popular protocols like OpenVPN and WireGuard, opting for its proprietary Speedify protocol, which focuses on speed over security. While it does use AES-256 encryption and includes a kill switch, it lacks independent audits to verify its claims.
Interestingly, even though Speedify states a no-logs policy, its privacy policy suggests it logs some user data, including IP addresses and connection timestamps. Plus, being based in the US, it raises some red flags regarding surveillance.

Performance Insights
I primarily tested Speedify’s free version, and I found it responsive. It efficiently handled Google apps, video calls, music streaming, and web browsing without dropping the connection. Speed tests showed download speeds 45.28% higher than my regular provider, with negligible upload drops.
However, the DNS leak protection yielded inconsistent results in my testing, with some leaks detected initially before it stabilized. This inconsistency raises concerns if you’re relying on it for complete privacy.
Server and Location Limitations
Speedify doesn’t boast a vast server network, with estimates of just 200-300 servers in about 37 countries—far fewer than competitors like Proton VPN, NordVPN, or CyberGhost. Dedicated servers are available but only for the Teams plan, which again limits options for individual users.
App Experience
Using Speedify’s desktop app on Windows felt smooth overall. While the UI is clean and modern, some features, like the server list, aren’t as easily accessible as they could be. You have to dig into the settings menu to switch servers, which might frustrate less tech-savvy users.
