Salesforce supports customers in creating bug bounty programs

Salesforce has introduced new content on its Trailhead online learning platform, offering resources on bug bounty programmes. The content is aimed at assisting organisations in developing their own bug bounty programmes, which incentivise ethical hackers to find and disclose software vulnerabilities. Bug bounty programmes help organisations gain insights into threats and stay ahead of emerging AI-backed threats. The Trailhead series includes modules on defining bug bounty programmes, creating vulnerability reports, and targeted research campaigns. Salesforce itself runs a successful bug bounty programme in collaboration with HackerOne, paying approximately $3m to ethical hackers in 2023 alone. The company hopes that by providing resources on bug bounty programmes, it can increase customer trust in the age of AI and enhance overall ecosystem security.
