Mimecast and Code42, two human-centred risk management experts, have joined forces as a single business in an acquisition that builds on a pre-existing tech partnership. Mimecast will integrate Code42’s product suite into its platform to enhance its insider threat detection and response capabilities.
Mimecast, known for its AI-powered, API-enabled connected human risk management platforms, sees this acquisition as a critical step in its strategy to revolutionize how businesses manage and mitigate human-centred risk. Mimecast CEO Marc van Zadelhoff emphasized that Mimecast’s platform focuses on the crucial moment of risk when a person opens their laptop, providing complete visibility and strategic insight across ecosystems in a way that fragmented point solutions cannot.
Code42 specializes in cloud-native insider threat and data leak protection, allowing customers to protect critical data from exposure, loss, leak, and theft while accelerating incident response times. The merger with Mimecast will enable customers to quickly detect and respond to threats across their digital environments.
Mimecast plans to support Code42’s existing customer base and make Code42’s Incydr data loss prevention product line available to its customers immediately. In the future, more capabilities will be integrated into Mimecast’s platform.
The acquisition aligns with Mimecast’s strategy to address human risk management through a comprehensive platform. Code42, founded in Minnesota at the beginning of the 21st century, boasts a strong customer base that includes notable tech sector companies and cyber firms. Code42’s data protection suite is compliant with GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, and other frameworks.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
