Certis Security Australia Experiences Email Breach – Ensuring Security Measures

Certis Security Australia, a physical security company, has experienced a breach in its email system. The incident has resulted in the unauthorized access of personal information belonging to some employees and partners. The compromised information includes names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, and tax file numbers. While the company suspects a ransomware threat executed through a phishing email, it has not disclosed whether a ransom demand has been made. To mitigate further damage, Certis Security Australia has isolated and removed access to its email systems and has enlisted the help of a cyber security specialist. Affected employees and partners have been notified, and support and guidance are being provided. The breach notice was briefly accessible but currently returns an error. In addition, IDCARE has been engaged to assist those affected by the breach.
